The RCC is designed to serve as a
central point of contact for investigators at CoE and CCOE's seeking
collaborative multi-site research projects.
By facilitating collaborative research
among the Centers, the RCC hopes to increase the likelihood that
diverse populations of women will be included in clinical research,
thus benefiting from such research. By serving the Centers of Excellence,
the RCC is uniquely situated to ensure that knowledge gained is
shared across the nation.
Our specialties:
- Circulate funding opportunities and potential collaborative
research projects/ ideas to the Centers
- Provide development assistance and review research applications
- Facilitate IRB submissions and approvals for multi-site projects
- Develop common study protocols
- Train young investigators in the conduct of clinical trial
research
ONWRD (Online National Women's
health Research Database)
ONWRD allows researchers at disparate
locations to identify potential research sites at CoE/CCOE institutions
that serve populations of interest for clinical research. Descriptive
information housed in ONWRD can also be useful to include in funding
proposal narratives that require background information on institutional
capacity.
Users will find listings of specialty
clinics and associated demographic data (age, gender and race/ethnicity
distribution) of populations in all the clinics and programs served
by the Centers of Excellence and Community Centers of Excellence
in Women's Health nationwide.
ONWRD Advantages
Showcase your research interests and areas of
expertise and locate colleagues who share these interests.
Find out who is working in what area and review
their publications and biographical sketches.
Search for current and past clinical trials
conducted through the CoE/CCOEs.
Find fellowship opportunities and applications
for fellowships affiliated with the CoE/CCOEs.
Not a CoE or CCOE?
We can still be of assistance. The
RCC can circulate research requests from external organizations
seeking to conduct clinical research. Requests will be shared with
the CoEs and CCOEs. These Centers can provide access to diverse
populations in a wide geographic area. In addition to women's health
issues, many of the Centers access populations capable of researching
sex & gender differences.
